'Delivering a whole new tennis experience'

As the Global Technology Partner of the ATP World Tour, Infosys are reinventing tennis for the ATP, and it’s players, coaches, media and fans.

Infosys has been a global partner of the ATP Tour for 4 years now. Through advanced statistical analysis techniques, insights and cutting edge technology, Infosys has provided ATP stakeholders and fans deeper insights to elevate their understanding of the game and personal performance. Our brief in 2018 was to extend the activation of their partnership even further through world first technology showcases in hospitality and fan zones.The biggest challenge was how to raise the bar yet again?

We took the new brand creative ‘Navigate Your Next’ and transformed the hospitality suite and fanzone into hi tech neon-tennis themed environments with UV lighting, furnishings and glow in the dark wall graphics. Housed within the hi-vis space were:

  • A truly immersive AR powered Future of Tennis Experience withsix modules which included analysis of players’ game strategy through data & insights, warm-up, practice and analysis of player techniques in a gamified environment and Event Manager software showcasing connected stadiums
  • HTC Vive VR tennis training and playing experience where players can take on the pro’s in a real match simulation on The O2 arena court and grade themselves against the stats of the world’s top players. The technology also includes an AI driven virtual shopping experience powered by Infosys software, where players can dress their own avatar based on personal preferences
  • Infosys ATP Data Analytics with live match automated stats and insights and Second Screen capabilities allowing for multiple sources of data (chair umpire, player and ball tracking, as well as historical data). This software was created in year one of the partnership and has evolved and delivered greater value to players, coaches, media and fans year on year.
  • Non-tennis related AR, AI and gaming showcases in the hospitality suite tailored to specific Infosys customer segments including, finance, retail, customer service and cyber security

We launched in November 2018 at the ATP Tour Finals in London and are rolling out the experience across the tour over the next 12 months starting with the first of the Grand Slams, the Australian Open.
